Absent Plan for Thursday 3/14

You are to create one last Layer Mask and post it on your Media Arts blog. If would like to make more than one you can, but by the end of the class, one must be posted!

When you are done with the work above, you may do any of the following…

  1. Make up any missing work for Media Arts
  2. Do Extra Credit (posted below)
  3. Do work for another class


Extra Credit Options
1. Art Advertisement: Make an advertisement (flyer, brochure, or poster) to promote an upcoming art show of your favorite artist (dead or alive). Pretend he/she will have a special museum exhibit. Choose the dates that the exhibit is showing, and when the reception (party to congratulate the artist) will be. Size will be 8.5 x 11.
2. Make Your Own Meme: You will choose an image of your choice and turn it into a meme. Think about the words you will use, and how it will fit with the image you chose. YOU CANNOT USE A MEME THAT ALREADY EXISTS!

3. Do Another GIF: Make a GIF of at least 4 frames (different .JPEG images) following the directions posted on the blog on January 31. When done, post on your Media Arts blog & label it Extra Credit

 4. Coloring Page: Choose a coloring page from Google & color it in in Photoshop. When done, post on your Media Arts blog & label it Extra Credit

Spot Healing Brush Tool

  The Spot Healing Brush Tool is the default "healing"  and can be used to clone areas from an image and blend the pixels from the sampled area seamlessly with the target area. With it, you literally take a spot of some kind (usually a pimple or some type of scar mark) and can heal it, or make it go away. Below is a Before and After . The chicken pox marks are no longer there!  When using the Spot Healing Brush tool, some things to keep in mind are...     1) Make the brush about the same size as the mark/spot you are trying to remove     2) Use single clicks with your mouse- dragging it can lead to weird color distortions Try using the Spot Healing Brush tool on the following images... 1) Oh no! Create an Animal Hybrid

We will begin to day to create our own unique animal hybrids. They can be from your own choosing, or you can reference mythical examples (centaur, hippogriff, minotaur, etc). 2) Insert the pictures into Photoshop. You will need to use a variety of different tools to blend the animals together. Some tools in particular are...      - Layer Mask      - Selection Tools (Magic Wand, Quick Selection, Lasso)      - Copy & Paste 3) Keep in mind the background you are using.
